Bamboo isn't as sharp, but less people have it. it looks pretty sweet in the end.

Appreciate it Allan. I've seen the color chips. I'm trying to put together pictures of a Cutlass/442 in every color offered in 1971. Going to have to pick a color in the near future so......

I'm happy I got to see that chart. My car's original color was Lime Green Poly.

I was thinking about using a lime greenish color. I saw a picture of a this car on the internet and thought it looked awesome.

And my car has the bumperettes too, just like this car.

Would anyone know what the actual name of this color is?

That does not look like the Olds 1971 paint code 43 lime green. Here's what that looks like to compare:

The color of your car is what my car's original color was. It's listed as Lime Green Poly.

I saw the picture of the car I posted earlier on the internet and thought it looked awesome. I'm seriously thinking of painting mine that color or a color close to it.

I think I have a picture of your car saved on my computer somewhere. Whenever I see pictures of 71 Olds' I save them to give me ideas for a color for my car.

Beautiful car, by the way.

Gotcha. I think that lime green is pretty close to the 1970 Mopar Sublime. You can find lots of pics of Challengers & Road Runners to look at for reference. BTW the trunk pic is my car the first one is NOT mine but same paint scheme. It's the car that sold at Barret Jackson for $100k or something like that. The paint is 10x better than mine so it made for a better pic.

I found it! I know I didn't take it from this site because I haven't added any photos to my 71 Oldsmobile photo file in a long time. I usually get my pictures when I type in 1971 Olds 442 pics in internet explorer.

Oh....oops....I thought it was your car. Either way, the trunk pic of your car is awesome too.

I'm going to look up the Mopar Sublime color. I'm not surprised. Mopar had a lot of off the wall colors like Plum Crazy.

No worries. Mine now has some really nice looking flat black mixed in too (fiberglass parts) not to mention some aftermarket parts like the 18" wheels.

Looks like a pretty close match to me. The Olds is a little darker because the sky is overcast and the Challenger has the sun shining on it. But I'd say they are the same color.

Now that I think about it.....I think there were some '72 - '73 Ford Mustangs that had a lime green similar to the Olds, too?

editted to add the Ford Grabber Lime

Very nice! I love those wheels! What type of wheels are they and where did you find them?

It's still a nice looking car, even with the black fenders.

That code 43 green is a ONE YEAR ONLY color for olds if I am not mistaken.
It is the same as chevrolet had for the citrus green and pontiac called it tropical lime green . I MUST MUST SAY I LOVE THAT COLOR My brother
had one the photos in my opinion dont do the color justice when in the sun all polished up . Can you post some current pictures ?

Thanks guys. Here's a link with lots of details and pics on the build up including info on the wheels and some of the most current pics. They are NewGen500 wheels made my Jon at DriverZ. Unfortunately they are very expensive if you want 18". You can get 17" AR500s for less then 1/2 the price.

That's a cool site. Found my car there posing as a 1970 with different wheels. That's the same silver I chose for mine. Wheels give me a better idea of future options. thx for the link

I've been trying to look at the Driverzinc.com site for those NewGen500 wheels and all that comes up is a GoDaddy website. It doesn't show me any rims.

I've got another question......where do I find prices for the rims? I'm not a big fan of those 17" and 18" rims. I like to see a little tire. I prefer 15" rims. I'd like to see what they have for 15 X 8s and 15 X 10s.

I also saw another rim those guys make called the Thrasher.....which I prefer over the NewGen 500s.

Eddie,
Good question. I was just on a wild goose chase on the web trying to find that info for ya. From what I can see, Driverz Inc is under new management. You might have to call them to find out the answer to your question. Wish I could be more helpful

I had a feeling I was going to have to call them. I saw the number under the id of a poster named "Justin B". I would rather see the price on the internet, as it's easier to remember, but if I have to call and find a price, I'll just have to write it down as he quotes it.

I have a feeling shipping will be quite steep to send them up this way.

Yeah, every site that had a link went to Go Daddy. I even tried looking for them at Tire Rack.

BTW, those Thrasher rims look awesome. I'm also more a fan of the smaller wheels.

Yeah.......the Thrasher rims have a futuristic SS Cragar look going on. I really like that. I've also always been "old school" in that I like smaller rims and white letter tires with the white letters out. To me, a nice set of rims really sets a car apart from others. And having the white letter tires adds to that look.

Capri Aqua was not available on the cutlass line nor the Toronado. That leaves a color only available on the 88/98 models. This info is from the 71 upholstery and paint album.
