1969 supreme lower body paint

Does anyone know the name of the silver lower paint color that was used under the trim on the supreme model?

Mark - You might some digging around on the Autocolorlibrary.com website. You'll input the year and model of your car and then the PPG/Ditzler color chip pages for your year will appear. See if the front page or back page for the '69's shows a "lower outer body color - Supreme models" or something similar.

I suspect that silver/alum color wasn't a gloss finish on the lower body. I've seen a few of these over the years and never saw any clues that lead me to believe the finish was a high gloss look. Probably some sort of satin, or semigloss at most, silver/alum mix.

I have checked the ppg paint sheet and there was no mention of the colour there. It is a flat paint as you say. I suspect that it may be the same paint color as the wheels but I have no way to show that.

Argent Silver would be my guess. Chevy used Argent Silver below the trim and on the rear tail light panel on the Malibu's
I looked for the PPG #s as well and didnt see them on autocolor library dot com?

I never thought to look at the Malibu's. I think you are right though. plus its close enough that it wouldn't matter. I doubt gm had different colours for that application.

I have the assembly manual but I didn't see anything there mentioning it. I am sure it is the argent silver that was used on the Malibu. It's a matte silver that looks to be the same as the wheel colour.

Mark, I just realized I sent you to the '68 manual instead.
It *is* in the '69 manual, see attached.
