Headers motor mounts

Headers motor mounts

Hi guy I'm restoring my 72 s bought headers on line right side fits fine left. Side hits the motor mount do in need to change motor mount to put header on has any one ran into this problem

First, are you sure you have the correct headers for your engine. SBO and BBO are different. What "on line" headers did you buy?

Second, are the motor mounts old? Often, the rubber will deteriorate and sag (especially if oil has leaked onto them), sometimes causing header fitment problems.

Third, every header manufacturer routes tubes differently, and even repeatability of tube placement from one set to the next from the same manufacturer can vary. It is unfortunately not uncommon to require minor "massaging" of headers to fit.

Yes my header pipe hit the engine mount. I just notched it. I'm using ARH headers with a 2" pipe
