69 F85 manual shift vin decoding

I have a 1969 F85 post body. It was black with a black bench seat interior. It had a manual floor shift trans, manual brakes, manual steering, non A/C. Does anyone know how I can find out for sure what engine/transmission combo this car had? I believe it would be a very interesting and unusual car.

Thanks for any help, Coldone1

do you have the vin? there are many different sites that have a variety of decoders that you can use, I am sure someone here can find it for you. Welcome to the site, we hope you enjoy your stay.

I looked at a 1968 F85 with a 6 cylinder and 3 speed manual transmission on the floor a couple years ago. Yours sounds a lot like it. Sadly, I missed buying it a couple months later but I thought it was crying out for a V8 4speed transplant!

69 F85

The vin starts with 332779Z which comes up as a 69 F85 V8 sport coupe. I just wish I could find out which V8 and what manual transmission. The poor thing was Joe Louis'ed in the front end years ago. The engine and transmission were long gone when I found her. The yard I got her from had been closed since the early eighties and everything was being crushed. I couldnt bear to let that happen to the F85 even though it was sitting flat on the ground and covered in pine straw. Its very rusty and very bent but there seems to be something very different about it and I like different.
