window stop adjustment

Is there an adjustment to control the downward travel on the front windows of a 69 Cutlass/442 convert? My passenger window goes down too far (just below the fuzzy strip so it rattles) and I didn't see an obvious adjustment or window stop when I had my head in there. I looked in the Fisher body book and while I see the adjustment to limit the up travel I see none for down. Do I have to get creative or is there something there I'm not seeing?

There is a down stop, but you will need to remove the door panel to get to it. It comes in contact with the window regulator arm.
If you don't have one in the car, let me know, I have boxes of these door / window parts I can send.

I'll look again tomorrow Tim but I didn't see it so far. Right now the window stops traveling down when the window track hits the power window motor! Is it just a rubber bushing that fastens in somewhere or is it adjustable? You don't have a pic do you?

On a '68 the stop is just a rubber block that fits into a slotted hole at the mid point of the window about three or four inches from the bottom of the door...

And in 1972, there were two of these, one on the left, one on the right.
They were angled brackets with round rubber pads that run in slots about 3" from the door bottom.
Not sure how the 69's door looks like.........

Thanks for the info guys. I'll get back in there today and see what's what but the other day I didn't see anything that stopped it or any spot where it appeared something was missing. That struck me as odd so I thought I'd ask the group. Glad I did!

Maybe the stops were removed by a previous owner / "mechanic" who did not know / care what they were?? Look for 2" long slots with evidence that a bolt had been tightened in the slot.

I hate to sound stupid but I didn't see anything in there today that looked like a stop or a place where one would go or had been. I'm going to be in the driver's door tomorrow so I'll take a look and maybe I'll see it on that side.

OK I found out what's going on. I actually found it by accident when I was looking for something in my 69 Service Guild book this morning. On a 69 the down stop is a block of rubber installed at the bottom of each vertical window track. There was a bulletin about the rubber stops falling out when they were new so that led me to check mine. Sure enough both of them on the passenger's door were missing. So I fabricated a couple up from some rubber I had kicking around and it's all set now. Learn something new everyday!

Cool - glad you figured it out.
You seem to always find what you are looking for in the manual when you are NOT looking for it... Happens to me a lot.
