How do I remove the dash heater controls without damaging the plastic on my 1997 LSS?

When you're removing the wood grain trim plate, first open the glove box door and undo the screws that fasten it on the right side. Failure to do this can result in bending that strip and learning new blue words. The trim is held in place by friction fit clips all the way across the IP. Work slowly and gently. The occasional forced pull is sometimes necessary. I had plenty of practice with this when I had to troubleshoot my AC on the 95 Regency Elite.

Once the trim is off it's pretty straight forward.
