86 Olds Cutlass trap door is not opening the arm not co

The trap door that directs the air to the vents Is not opening the long metal arm that pulls the trap door open & shut came lose

First, welcome to the site... That control lever is held on with a spring clip/washer... Most likely the clip/washer came off and is laying on your carpet somewhere... If that's not the case, either the lever itself or the attaching point on the vent door is broken...
