So, while I am doing this full restore, I figured I should install a new heater core just to be safe..

Well.. It looks like that is easier said than done.. I can not find a listing for it anywhere...

Any ideas on where to find one? or a cross reference with another car?

A good radiator rebuilding shop my be able to rebuild your current heater cores.

I just took a close look at mine.. It looks like it may have been leaking at some point..

There is no radiator shop in this town.. So any ideas as to where to send it out for checking and possible repair??

Need to be a shop that knows what they are doing since you can not get a replacement one..

I will get some photos of it, I was also under the assumption that all of these heater cores would fit..

• Buick Special (1961–1963)
• Buick Skylark (1962–1963)
• Oldsmobile F-85 (1961–1963)
• Oldsmobile Cutlass (1961–1963)
• Oldsmobile Jetfire (1962–1963)
• Pontiac Tempest (1961–1963)
• Pontiac Tempest LeMans (1961–1963)
• Pontiac LeMans (1963)

I know the 1961-63 Special/Skylark and Cutlass/F-85 cores are the same. I'm not certain of the Tempest.

Yes, I think the Buick is the same as well.
My core is in tact.. so I assume it would be repairable?

but if you have a known good core.. I would be interested in it

I will PM you the address.. I am willing to help anyone out, with parts like this its hard to tell the internal condition, therefore I see no need in charging for an item unknown. I can't guarantee it like a set of rims or a glove box. SO I think thats only fair.

Very much appreciated... I totally understand... I guess I'll have them both checked and hopefully one of them is good... The shop in NY want $200 to redo a core.. totally outrageous IMO
