1962 Cutlass Convertible - OEM Wheels

Hi all,

I just purchased a 1962 Cutlass Convertible on Saturday and drove Rt 66 from Chicago to Scottsdale. The car ran like it was brand new. Just a great experience.

I would like to change the wheels back to orinal with hubcaps. Any idea where I can get wheels and hubcaps? Can any 13", 4 bolt steel rim work? Many thanks

Welcome Asolare, new 14" stock wheels that fit your 62 are available from Summit the part number is; WVI-12-460404 $59.95 each. Wheel covers show up on Ebay every now and then.
If you can, come on down to the Saturday car show at the Pavilions shopping center right off the East loop of the 101 and Indian Bend Rd. It's in the McDonalds parking lot, I'll be there in the afternoon with my white 63 Cutlass post, parked next to a red 70 442 convert, I can give you the name and number of a fellow Oldsmobile guy that has a 62 convert also. I just sold him (8) 14" wheels and he might be receptive to selling his stock 13 inchers with original full wheel covers.

1970-W30,

I'll be there. I look forward to seeing your beast, getting some advice and meeting a few enthusiasts. Do you have a rough time you will be there?

Many thanks

These are not "stock" wheels, they are aftermarket steel wheels and have two bolt patterns on them (4x4.25" and 4x4.5"). The original 13" wheel covers do not fit. Pretty sure the original dog dish covers won't fit either. (Yeah, I'm aware that's a generic photo with two five hole patterns - it's the one Summit shows for this listing)

Of course 13" wheel covers wont fit a 14" wheel and I never posted they would, that's such an obvious fact that it doesn't even merit mentioning...I just mentioned the 14" Summit wheels as an option to replace the factory 13" wheels. That's also why I mentioned wheel covers show up on Ebay every now and then. I just gave two options available to the new poster on this site, the availability of 14" wheels and a lead on a stock 13" wheel package.....going back to original does not necessarily mean a 13" wheel/tire package....

I guess your definition of "original" differs from that of the rest of the world.

As I noted in his other thread about this car, the factory options were 13" or 15" in 1962. There were 14" wheels offered in 1963, but not in 1962.

In any case, the OP wants to use the original (as in, from the factory) 13" full wheel covers, as he stated in the first post in this thread.
