You need a flywheel holder (also called a flywheel turner) to keep the engine from spinning. This engages the teeth on the ring gear. Usually it requires two people - one to hold the flywheel and one to deal with the balancer. You can try removing the starter. Sometimes you can insert a rod or screwdriver into a hole in the flywheel and lock it up against the block.

Thanks for your help Joe but i can use the tool you are talking about because the bellhousing on my hydramatic transmission is all around the flywheel . the only one way i could use is a tool to hold the balancer pulley . is it possible to do it like that ? no problem for the balancer pulley if i take this way ?

No problem holding the balancer, but you can also try pulling the starter and using a pry bar or long screwdriver to hold the flywheel.
