my vote is for black cat run it was listed above but that car seemed wicked and truly notable. factory looking but fast the way w 30 cars and sx,s should have been done back then and heavy duty across the line. the true essence of musclecars.

The first episode of Snowfall, within the first 5 minutes, has a scene with a '70 442 'vert in it. Can only see the rear of the car though.
Waiting for it to show up in a subsequent episode...........

Saw an TV advertisement today for some prescription drug (can't remember the name of it), but it featured a "patient" who's hobby is working on his '72 442 'vert. It was in black-and-white so I couldn't tell what color this car was, but it sure looked nice.

They have them in Japan. It's not a dealership, it's a showroom. You buy elsewhere, just look there and they refer you to the dealership.
I think that program confused the OHV Rocket 8's launch as the dawn of the muscle car era.
I would argue the first muscle car to be the Chrysler 300 letter series cars.

'68 442 'vert (with correct W-36 stripe !)
See it in action here !

Potato-vision quality copy of entire movie.
I swear I've seen another movie of the same vintage with this same car, It was a 'couple on the run' type movie also set in the desert. Car was more weathered and I remember protagonist wielding a big chrome revolver.

On the TV show Blue Bloods, Detective Anthony Abetemarco drives a brown 83 4-door Cutlass Supreme. Oldsmobile were also used in early episodes of Highway Patrol. Here is a link to and episode with a 56 Olds 88. Looks at about 9.38 and you will see it.

I'm watching every episode of Highway Patrol, just to see all the mid to late fifties cars and trucks. According to wikipedia, a lot of the scenes were filmed on back roads because Broderick Crawford (Dan Matthews) lost his license for OUI.

This tread was started in 2008, so it may have already been mentioned. but I recently stumbled on an old Steve McQueen movie "the Great St. Louis Bank Robbery". Steve is seen driving a 56 four door Holiday throughout the movie:

Watched "Tank" last night which is one of my favorite movies. It's well known James Garner was an Olds fan so I wonder if that's why his family car in the movie was a 83-ish Custom Cruiser wagon.

Hey everyone! Since we are on the topic of movie Oldsmobiles, I thought I would share my story. Not a huge fan of the movie, but "Girl, Interrupted" was partially filmed in my town in 1999 I believe. This is the film my 1966 Olds Cutlass convertible made it's movie debut in. If you look at this link http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_36564-C...ance-1970.html , my Cutlass appears right above the "meat wagon" in the foreground. The 1968 Volvo behind my car was driven by actor Jeffrey Tambor. I did see Wynona Ryder up close, but let's just say she wasn't in the mood to sign autographs. The imcdb site is great for finding movie cars!

Joyride.....1996.. Toby Maguire plays a guy who works at a motel his father owns. Among the guests that arrive is a beautiful woman with a beautiful black 1970 Cutlass convertible. He decides to steel her car with his friend,,,, the car is shown driving all through the entire opening credits and theme music and appears to have an Oldsmobile Club Of America touring medallion on the grill and the whole movie centers 100% around the Cutlass,,, Rated R,, great movie for a Cutlass lover!!

Different Sources have conflicting info +-
The Beverly Hillbillies truck (actually a 1921 Oldsmobile) didn't belong to any of the main characters - it was on loan from Jed's cousin Pearl, who lent it to him under the condition that he watched after Jethro. It's a '21 Oldsmobile truck. It currently resides at the campus of College of the Ozarks in the Ralph Foster museum. I do not believe George Barris had anything to do with this truck.
“Beverly Hillbillies Truck (Based on 1923 Olds) from the 1960's TV show”
Originally a 1921 Oldsmobile Model 46 Roadster, famed car Kustomizer George Barris (The Batmobile, Munster Koach, A-Team van, etc.) did such an amazing job preparing the old truck for the series that many people think he did nothing at all to the truck. Actually, he combined a touring car body with the frame of a flatbed truck!
In the last two pictures you can see an episode where Jethro jazzed up the family grocery-getter with a powerful 442 engine. In the last picture you can see the real deal photographed in a museum. Luckily, one of the old trucks still exists and is available for public viewing! On May 6, 1976, Mr. Paul Henning, creator of the show, donated a surviving truck to the Ralph Foster Museum at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri, just two miles from Branson. Five different trucks were used in filming the TV show, and close watchers can see slight continuity breaks and variations in the trucks.

The Ralph Foster Museum is on the campus of the College of the Ozarks, a private Christian school. Known locally as "The Smithsonian of the Ozarks," the museum was named for Foster even though Foster wasn't involved with it until the 1960s, four decades after it had begun as a bird collection in a men's dormitory basement. Ralph was a radio mogul in southwest Missouri, founder of KWTO ("Keep Watching The Ozarks") and of the long-running Ozark Jubilee. His generous donations of cash and display-caliber artifacts earned him the museum's gratitude, and immortality for himself as long as the museum stays in business (and keeps his name).
The Ralph Foster Museum's best known exhibit is a cut-down 1921 Oldsmobile Model 46 Roadster, the truck used in the original Beverly Hillbillies TV series. It was a Bicentennial gift to the museum by the show's producer, Paul Henning, who grew up nearby. Generations of fans have had snapshots of themselves taken in the battered front seat, in front of a large photo of Uncle Jed, Granny, Jethro, and Ellie May Clampett, Mr. Drysdale and Miss Hathaway. You only sit in the truck, however, if you pay the student at the cash register ten bucks to take your picture. After driving all of the way out here, how can you say no?
The Beverly Hillbillies truck is the most worldly example of what the Ralph Foster Museum is all about: preserving mementos that somehow relate to the Ozarks, or that people in the Ozarks find interesting.
“Love the truck,” Jed said. “Has room for my entire family and my dog too. I don’t do too much of the driving though, I leave that up to my nephew Jethro. He keeps the truck running like a top too. I am able to trade it in ...

There's an indie horror comedy "Slice" on Showtime this month that has the witches cruising in a NICE green 1970 Ninety Eight. Appears an LS. Looks like it's playing most of the day on Halloween. Maybe I can finally catch the whole thing instead of just the last 20 minutes.

Everybody’s favorite 60s Genie, appearing with everyone’s favorite 70s family - from 1996s A Brady Sequel. Mike Brady had some very cool cars back then - here is his ‘71 Cutlass vert. Didn’t get as much air time as Marcia, but more than Barbara Eden - all great lookers!

1971 Season 3 / 8 Brady Bunch opening scene, someone must have paid to have the 68 "S" in the parking lot next to the Brady's Wagon and then drive by the store front door one second later ...
