1970 Yenko Deuce 4speed Citrus Green
1970 Yenko Deuce 4 speed Citrus Green #160
Based on the info provided by the Yenko Deuce Registry, Marlin Spotts;
Out of approx 175, 1970 Yenko Deuce LT1 COPOs sold by Yenko Sports Cars Inc. less than 100 are registered and accounted for.
Of those it is estimated that only 10 were built in Citrus Green and only one of those had power steering and a 4 speed. (This is that Deuce).
It is believed to have been Sold new from Sam Leman Chevrolet om Roanoke, Illinois.
We have the car documented back to the 1980s, when Jerry Janota, purchased the car from whom we believe were the second owners.
Based on the history of the car as we know it and Jerry’s verification that he bought the car with the original drivetrain, we believe the car to have the original, engine, original trans as well as original rear end housing.
Jerry Janota provided a affidavit regarding the originality of the engine/drivetrain.
It was frame off restored by Bob Joyce approx 10 years ago and was driven on the power tour in 2005.
This Deuce was completely frame off restored in 2015 by MASCAR / Detroit Muscle restorations in California. This included a fresh rebuild of the drivetrain. The Deuce was debuted at MCACN VII where it was awarded Concours Gold.
$225,000.00 obo Trades considered 630-377-1222

Stefano, I know of a Citrus Green '70 Yenko Deuce (automatic) in a Chicago suburb. The car is in shell condition. Long term owner who doesn't advertise what he has. Has that one been accounted for in your registry? Greg

Interesting, never knew that Hurst built some of the Yenko Deuce's. Did Hurst just build the Deuce's, or did they also build some of the other Yenko cars? I think both locations were in Pennsylvania, so it would be feasible logistics wise.

The Yenko Deuce Registry is maintained by Marlin Spotts. I can't remember a local Citrus automatic, but do know the original owner to one and its not one of the known cars.
There were two batches of Yenko Deuces. 125 first order and 50 second order. 5 different colors of 10 each, with three new colors. Citrus Green, Hugger Orange, Sunfire Yellow.
It is my understanding that Hurst only modified the last 50 cars for Yenko. Installing Stripes and emblems, Dixco hood tacs and wheels /tires plus any other optional equipment, like sport mirrors or gauges.
These 175 Novas plus two Canadian built cars seem to be the only COPO Novas built in 1970.
The 70 LT1s were a great performance package.
Interesting facts are that the optional Yenko Steering wheel was the same wheel used on the 1970 Buick GSX and that the 4 speed shifter handle was borrowed from a GTO.
