LS swap

Anyone have a LS engine in their olds? I have a 72 cutlass conv....... my 350 is very reliable but I feel it needs a rebuild.....been thinking bout a 455 but I found a good ls1 for cheap.....wondering what's a good price for the ls swap (carb) and how much work did it take?

Hi newguy, have you checked our non-olds powered section? Look for posters "garys68" and "aceshigh"

Take a look at these two threads to get you started.

My 72 is a daily driver with a 5.3 LSx.
I would suggest keeping it fuel injected and go with an OD trans. The carb, manifold, and MSD spark box typically costs more than keeping efi.
As for how much work, there are a lot of A body swaps over at LS1tech, chevelles, etc, so most parts are readily available and most combinations tested.
