403 swap to 350 chevy

hello again
Its been a while since my last post, and I feel I did not introduced myself properly.
my name is ilan. I am from Jerusalem.
My first and only classic car is 74 cutlass supreme that I owned a year and a half ago.
Back then I knew almost nothing about mechanic, but I learned a lot and there's still a lot to learn. So, forgive me if my questions will sound stupid.
You should also forgive my bad grammar.
I'll need a lot of help soon, because I intend to swap my 403 to 350 Chevy engine.
My first question is about motor mounts. Will Chevy engine just slip in or i'll need motor mounts adapters? The transmission on the car is Chevy 700.
what else should i considre before i'll make that swap?

You will need frame and motor mounts as well as changes to the exhaust... Wiring harness will need some modifications, especially starter wires since the starter is on the opposite side from the Olds engine...

Many chevy engines had the "POOF" blow by on start up, before they left the showroom
Hopefully, you won't end up with one of them.
All the best with the swap!

Rebuilding your 403 may be a better option than a 350 Chevy. A stock 350 sbc probably won't have the torque that a 403 sbo has and that's what you feel when you hit the gas.

Hey folks, note that he is in Jerusalem so it may be difficult to source rebuild parts.

Oldsmobile parts are available in Lebanon via multiple sources. Should be able to get parts from locations near Jerusalem so 403 can be rebuilt.

Is this a case of you have a running chevy engine on hand and want to dump it in??
I'm going to assume when you said transmission is a 700, that is the transmission to go with the chevy engine , as the 7004r transmission doesn't bolt to an old engine without an adapter.. Your 74 olds would have a th350 if automatic, and the bolt pattern is different than the chevy..

Anyways, to put the chevy in your olds, assuming you have a transmission hanging off the back of the chevy,
you'll need 73-77 chevy a body motor mounts and stands, exhaust manifolds unless going headers then you'll need for a 73-77 chevy a body (el camino/malbu/etc)
maybe a different fan shroud and fan or spacer, different hoses, some wiring work.
as for the transmission, if it is a 7004r going in, you'll need a different crossmember and mount, a shorter drive shaft and shifter linkage..
buy the time you get all the parts over there, unless you are fab'n up most of it yourself. the rebuilding of the 403 will be cheaper..
Good luck with what ever way you go..

7004r is already in the car. are there motor mounts adapters to buy?

Thank you all.
the 7004r transmission in the car indeed installed with adapter (we call it here just 700 transmission). it is not easy to get parts in israel, but it is not cuba. everything can be shipped to israel, but we have to pay double.
I posted on Facebook in Israel that I am looking for olds engine and offered to buy sbo 350 and also 403. But that's it. No more. Chevy engine are much more common to find.
And for the offer to buy parts from Lebanon… well… let's just say that unfortunately we do not communicate with each other.
midnightleadfoot! Thank you very much for your answer. I did not know it is so complicated.
Note that 7004r is already in, so I guess that the drive shaft, the transmission mount and the shifter were handled.
I want to know if it is possible to get motor mounts adapters.
And I also want to know what parts from the olds can fit the chevy endine: disterbuter, water pump, fuel pump, intake manifold, starter……

Unfortunately, virtually nothing interchanges.
Motor mounts and frame perches from a similar year Monte Carlo should work.
