My high idle cam sticks and does not drop down with engine warm. Does it only rely on gravity to drop it? I have cleaned it, lightly sanded the side, tried it dry and with oil. Just touch it with throttle open and it drops. Any ideas?

It works off the choke. Putting oil on it will make it worse because it will attract dust and dirt.

I know the choke linkage lifts the cam when it closes, then as the linkage drops, the cam should drop as the choke opens. So there is no spring or mechanical connection that moves it as the choke opens? I have tried it dry and oiled. I guess I will remove cam again, clean maybe try silicone spray.
