73 olds 98 power trunk wire routing

I am putting a power trunk set up in my 73 olds 98, can anyone tell me where the wire is supposed to run from the trunk to the glove box? In a cutlass it runs down the passenger side , but the one page i got from the kit instructions it looks like it comes into the trunk on the driver side. Does it run in the wiring harness raceway?

Thanks Greg

You might find the routing in the Accessories section of the Chassis Manual.

Pretty sure my 76 Ninety Eight comes in on driver side though it's been a while since I looked.

The CSM shows only a diagram of the release switch wiring behind the glovebox. There is no diagram showing wire routing to the rear of the car nor any diagram of the solenoid in the trunk compartment.

The '73 CSM is available at Wildaboutcars.com, which is free to join. What diagram there is is on page 15-31, Figure 15-52. But, as I say, it shows only the glovebox area.

I'm thinking the assembly manual might have this. Wildaboutcars, however, does not have assembly manuals for anything but the Cutlasses.

Pretty sure the one I pulled out of a car in the junkyard crossed over behind the dash and ran down the driver's side.

It should be the left side. The wire will come up behind the left side of the back seat and into the trunk. It will then route through the left trunk hinge (with clips) and into the trunk lid to the solenoid. I would imagine it's the same on the '73 as the '76.

Thanks to all that replied, i did get in the kit a page of the assembly manual. It showed how it goes behind the dash and in the trunk but didnt show the run through the car floor. Since it comes in the drivers side in the trunk i assume it runs that side.

Thanks all!
