64 Olds Ninety Eight: Fuel Leak at Fuel Filter/Pump?

Hey guys,
When the car sits for a couple days without being started, it leaks fuel for a couple minutes once started back up.

It's right at the block, and looks like it's coming from the fuel pump/filter? I would guess that there is a seal/gasket in there that is worn out, and once it warms up, it seals up again.

This seems like a pretty easy fix but:
Has anyone had this issue before?
Anything I should be aware of before I start taking things apart?
Are parts readily available at NAPA?

I'll try to get some video/pics posted later on, but any help is greatly appreciated.

If the leak is at the fuel pump diaphragm this can or is a potential dangerous situation . Often when a fuel pump goes bad gas leaks inside the crankcase and an internal explosion can occur. Does your oil smell of gas? If so do not drive your car till you have replaced the pump.I would try your local parts houses first but if they don't USA Parts Supply Has rebuilds aviable with a core charge part# S3 900L.....Tedd

So I've got the pump apart. I see a couple ripped gaskets and seals and I'm sure the filter could be replaced.

The problem I'm having is not being able to find a rebuild kit or even a fully rebuilt pump. When I look in the Parts USA catalog, 900L says it's for a 330 & 425... I have a 394, which I thought was the only engine option in the 98 that year...?

I can give them a call tomorrow to figure it out I suppose.

*EDIT: The diaphragm seal seemed to be well intact, so I'm hopeful that fuel was not leaking into the crankcase. The main leak I saw was gasket around the glass bowl. That one is pretty shredded.

Here are pics of the two most damaged areas: The glass bowl gasket, and this torn seal to the bottom of the fuel pump.

If you take them to a OLD, independant auto parts store, thats been in business over 20 years, with a parts guy OVER 30, you might find some loose gaskets that size!!

I sent it out to those guys!
They said the kit was $40, but for another $45 they'd rebuild it for me.
Not a bad deal at all.

Now on to fixing the overtightened valve cover on the pass side
