66 Ninety Eight Fuel Tank Vent Lines
Since replacing my gas tank I have noticed a really bad fuel smell in the garage.
I have two vent lines coming off the corner at the RF of the tank. Is there supposed to be something at the top of the two hoses? I remember seeing prev posts for Cutlass's and they had a valve at the top that linked the two hoses.
Is it the same on this car?

They really ought not to be a source of a strong odor as they are relatively long (a couple of feet) and of not that large diameter. I can catch a whiff of fuel smell if I stand close to the rear wheel and bend down, but even then it's hard to notice.
If you have a strong gasoline smell, and if those hoses are securely attached, I'd look for another source.

I've always had a slight fuel smell but this has definately gotten worse since fixing the tank. Although I never had much gas in it before because it leaked when more than half full. There are no leaks from the tank or any of the lines.
Strange.
