Air condition openings in dashboard

Air condition openings in dashboard
Hi folks,
trying to solve following question.
I have 1964 Olds 98 Holiday sedan. On all promomaterials from that time there are rounded holes on the sides of the dashboard, just like aircondition openings.
My olds do not have these "holes", air is circulating under the dashboard.
Is it the question of equipment?
