Oh yeah! 59 was one of the BEST years for Oldsmobile.

I think the OP refers to the foam headliner Oldsmobile used in that era. It may have been called Star-lite or some such? To my knowledge it is no longer made by anyone, anywhere. Your only option is to go with a conventional fabric liner at this point.

You are right that no one really makes it. I got SMS to send what they have and they sent vinyl and say glue it to a foam backing.
So the website states the correct trim and all that but they really do not have it.
The letter says send a photo but I would imagine it would cost a mint to make it.

IN post #8 was this just a special type of headliner material, because I googled Starlight headliner and what came up was at one time there were very expensive cars,(Rolls Royce, Bently, ect) that were available with tiny lights made into the headliner and at night they lit up and resembled the sky filled with stars. You can view these on (starlighthq.com) and they have kits available with fiber optic lights and show some examples on their site.
If is not something like this, check LeBaron Bonney, they show many different kinds of headliner material by the yard. Good luck in your search,it's a beautiful car. Larry

It is hard to accurately recall the years the Starlite headliner was available. I want to say 1959 through 1962, but would not bet my life on it.
As for recreating it, I would think if one had the correct backer board a "reasonable facsimile thereof" could be made with a sprayer, sort of like the now reviled textured (popcorn) ceilings found in homes years ago?

As far as I know, Lebaron Bonney is a provider of aftermarket interiors. I recently bought a set of seat covers to restore a set of bucket seats for my 86 f250. I considered buying them from Lebaron Bonney but I got them from Automotive Interiors instead.

I saved money and their customer service was great.

Note the third line of the paragraph at far right.

That looks like Jim Ferguson's old car...
The Star-Lite foam headliner actually first appeared in 1958 in the 98. It was a thin plain sponge rubber foam material. It was color coordinated to the interior, it think with a light coat of paint.
In '59 the Star-Lite material appeared with ribs, similar to corduroy. In '62 (at least) the material also had side to side imitation pleats embossed into it.
Buick also used this material, and Chrysler. '63 may have been the last year.
Good results have been produced by using a whipcord grain vinyl and gluing it to the existing headliner boards.

That is one beutifull car by the way. Love the colour.
Automotive Interiors sent me some samples, I ended up buying from them.
My old lining was peeling off the boards so I scraped it off then glued the new stuff to them. Unfortunately my bows that hold the boards up were brittle and disintegrated and could not be saved. So I made something up.
