1976 98 rear taillight/bumper extension fillers

so I've searched around and read a couple threads here about the fillers....mine are crumbled out I lost half of them on the drive back from buying it haha. the previous owner tried to bondo and chicken wire but time has done its worst to them.

**How do I uninstall them?? I dont see them mentioned in my 76 service or body manuals.

found out the plastic parts inc ones on ebay were the best fitting, and I had been watching them on ebay for a couple months saving up some money and time. Then one day they just disapeared.

not n their website anymore either http://plasticpartsinc.com/oldsmobile.html
emailed them but no response yet

found these after combing another related thread:
http://sandkindustries.com/76OLDS98.html
any one buy from them and can confirm fitment??

just to confirm, these are the good fitting ones that I want to be after correct??

I bought from this vendor for my '78 Toronado. They needed a little tweaking by my body shop guy, but they ended up looking great, and they're a lot less money than what you're looking at.

Yeah ive seen those too, the fiberglass replacements, but came across a couple threads saying how they never fit right. How the molding was a bit off and couldnt be bettered by reglassing. Thats kinda why i made this topic to bring up to date opinions on whos got the best fitting product.

New to 98s, my 76 cutlass supreme has aluminum taillight buckets. Wish i could metalwork a set for my 98

I've followed the threads on bumper fillers. As you mentioned, pretty much any bumper fillers will require work.

If Jaunty speaks highly of the company he linked I would go with them. Even if you can save money elsewhere you will probably have to fight to get them to fit.

Now I need to find bumper fillers for my 71 98.

Lightengine, if you're interested in bumper fillers for your 76 use the "Contact Us" page in the link Jaunty provided.

Hey there, the fiberglass fillers that Jaunty provided info on are about the only option at this time. I had worked with another manufacturer a number of years ago that was making a much better ABS plastic set but they are no longer in business unfortunately. I can't speak for the Toronado fillers but the 98 set does not fit well at all and there's very little that can be done to make them fit nicely. They are passable and much better than leaving the car without anything but I would not be happy with them. Another dedicated 98 owner and I are always looking for a good solution and somebody to reproduce a quality set. In time, we hope to have something in place.

In the meantime, tell us more about your 98 and post some pics! Do you need anything else besides the fillers?

I have 2 76 98 Regency coupes.

I have just found myself in the same dilemma, found a nice solid car and the fillers are crumbled.
I have ordered the ones from Replica Plastics and will report back on how well they work.
