What 1970 98 Coupe parts interchange with 88; interior most important

Please,

What parts on a 1970 98 coupe can install into a 1970 88 as a direct-replacement? Dash, front and rear seats, door panels?

How about exterior parts and trim?

Thanks!

I'm guessing that pretty much all interior parts, such as seats, door panels (assuming both are four-doors or two-doors), and dashboard will likely bolt right in. Exterior trim is probably the same in some areas and not in others. Front fenders are possibly the same, but rear bumpers are often not, for example.

I think the best approach would be to say what you'd like to transplant from one car to the other. There are plenty of folks on this site with that specific knowledge.

Jaunty has given you some excellent starting points. Just a quick FYI. Although the panels and seats from the 98 may fit into the 88, the styling patterns will likely not match.

Back in those years, Olds (and other brands) made conscious efforts to individualize each of their product runs to a certain degree.

I'm more familiar with the Cutlass line. If you look at respective years and model lineups the interior panels will transfer across, but the trim is unique in each level of production. eg: 1972 f85 and Cutlass are different interior panels than Cutlass S and Cutlass Supreme.

Almost every part will bolt on, though, as Allan says, some will look different, and there may be some interior panels that won't mix n' match. Outside trim is different, so it won't match up, and there will be holes where there shouldn't be. Fenders will bolt on, though.

The only pitfall to watch out for is that the 98 square-roofed 4-doors have a longer wheelbase than the 88 fastback 4-doors, so some rear interior panels won't swap out.

thanks for the info

Changing the seat pattern, door panel pattern is fine. And it's two door to two door. Any other expertise on doing this on this year? Thanks.

Not sure about '70, but the 98 and 88 probably have completely different arm rests, power window switches, and door handles, so you want to be sure to get all the underlying parts from doors, etc., including wiring.

Also, the 98 may have additional sound deadening material, which you could grab.
