Glad the skirts got there OK.
Fusick shows a rear bumper for the cutlass at $435.00 times 20% = $87.00.
ThePartsPlace shows $150.00 core charge for a rear bumper.
How does $100.00 sound, you remove and take with you.
Add $20 if you want me to take it off.
Who/how would you have it "picked up"?
Jay

Hi Jay,
Let me know the condition of the steering column intermediate shaft and the coupling at the base of the column (essentially everything connecting the actual column to the gearbox). Mine has some play in it and it drives me nuts. The picture I attached should clarify the parts that I'm referring to. Let me know. Thanks! John

hey Jeff, it could be one of the bearings in the column that has some play in it. You may be able to repair or replace them if so. There really shouldn't be any play in the wheel or column. I would go over everything from the wheel down to the gearbox and make sure everything is properfly torqued. My burgundy 98 is the one with the play while the black car's is tight as a drum...no play at all. Which of your cars has the play in it?

John,
I really don't know the condition of the steering. Have not driven the car, it's not drivable. We will need the steering to move the car around when we take the engine/tranny out. I can let you know when we get to that point in a couple of months.
Thanks, Jay

As I said in the previous post, the 98 is long gone to the smasher.
The good news is the 455 it gave up for my Cutlass has be rebuilt and after a few issues with the Edelbrock heads and the copper headgaskets, it now behaves like it should. Now all I need to do is stock up on rear tires.
