Lightbulb 1972 Door handle (push button)

Hi All. New to this great site. Don't mind the handle... I am currently doing a 68' Dart, but love all makes and models.

My grandpa has a 72' Ninety-Eight coupe w/455 that he bought new. He called me up last night and said that the driver's side door button is stuck in. He tore the door apart and found the a piece broke of the mechanism and the spring flew off, causing the button to stick. I have not looked at it myself, but I am sure the pot metal finally gave out and broke on him.

Are these handle assemblies the same as the Cutlass? I saw a button kit for a Cutlass in Year One's catalog, and wondered if it would do the job. If this is not it, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks all, great site.

Andy

I don't know if the mechanism would be the same in a Cutlass. You might look at Fusick auto parts. They have a specific catalog for Oldsmobile 98 and 88s.

Good luck!
