79 blk/gld HO questions ???

hello olds people. looking at a 79 black and gold and want to make sure it a real hurst car. i dont have the vin handy, but will tomorrow. what are some items to look at to make sure the car is real? thanks

Welcome. It's actually very easy to verify the authenticity of a 1979 H/O. These were the only 1979 Cutlii (except for the wagons) that came with the Olds 350 motor from the factory. Check the fifth character of the VIN. If it is the letter "R", that's a real 1979 H/O (assuming, of course, that the rest of the VIN is correct for the car). The VIN must start out 3K47R9M...
