1969 442 key cylinder switch

1969 442 key cylinder switch

I believe the plastic shaft that pulls the teeth on the rail is broken I need a pic of one and how to replace it , do I have to remove steering wheel to replace that? ......the old key cylinder was pulled out before car was purchased .thanks for any help

That's called the sector gear. I think if the cylinder is out, you can pull it out with needle nose pliers, I'm not positive. If the cylinder is in, the wheel has to come off. Let me look for a pic.
