Good to see you adding an Oldsmobile to your collection.

Is that a Pontiac hood tach on the car?

Ryan , Welcome to the Old's side .

You are going to find some amazing real people on this site . AND , you are now under the spell of ownership and care taking from the original owner .
As a thought , you will probably want to consider doing a thread in the Major Builds heading . I say this because your car will have some identifying marks , numbers , features , that go back to day one .
I did read your thread on Yenko last night , and was hoping you would end up here . If you want to see an example of how a build thread is treated here , in the build threads take a peek at " costpenn's " or " jensenracings "
W - 30 , builds .. Pour a cup of coffee , and sink into them .
I - THINK yours will become this type of car for you .
You have found an amazing ( Benchmark ) rare performance vehicle .
Congratulations , and the rest of the W - 31 friends will seek you out .
I've always liked your contributions to the other forum , and this will be even more of the same .. Enjoy the ride .
Cheers , Jim Tuma

7 W-31 equipped cars that were also post coupes. That is what I think the 7 refers to. Most certainly there were far more than 7 Cutlass post coupes imported into Canada.

I talked to George Zapora today and i now understand the 7 number.

He said (I am not trying to quote him here just explain what I took from the conversation) there were Oldsmobile's made at Oshawa so the bulk of Canadian orders would have been filled with cars made in Canada. The 7 imported cars like mine could have had any drive train in them, he doesn't have a breakdown by specific option like that. The 7 is the amount of 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass 'S' 33677 2dr Club Coupes (Post Sedans) imported for sale in Canada.

I think I mastered the picture posting labyrinth here on CO:-) This is me and the original Owner Al Stager:-)

Great guy!

W machines were only built @ Lansing so all Canadian order W cars had to be imported. If the car ordered was NOT a W machine it would most likely have been built at the Oshawa plant. Some west coast orders may have been filled with Freemont built cars so there is a chance that there were some non W-31 equipped Cutlass post coupes imported.

We know for sure that at least one & as many as seven were sold in Canada. I still believe the number to be closer to 7 than 1.

Generally, the numbers quoted on the Canadian docs are per the VIN.

I agree with your logic, how many are known to exist........I have one, are the other six known cars?

Not sure what your exhaust looks like or if you have plans to replace it, but if you do, check out Gardner's Exhaust for the 1969 1970 w-31 set up. I installed this set up in my 72 Cutlass (it's not correct for that car but I can live with that) and it is absolutely top notch. I'm glad I bought it. And it would be correct for your car, a plus. No drone in the cabin at low speeds and just enough grunt to sound great when you want it to. They do have a less restrictive option but I wanted a somewhat quiet set up for my plain Jane Cutlass S. It all works out, and it's worth the dough for the quality this set up is.

Thanks for the tip.

The original owner and his daughter started working on the car about three years ago to return her to service, and added 3 inch stainless exhaust with an X cross over and headers. I will use this for the first while and in future move to a system as you have mentioned.
