New to the forum-however Oldsmobile is in my blood
Since the age of 17 Ive been driven 68-76 cutlass's. ive owned at least 20 of them. I bought 1 friend a 72 and gave a 74 to another friend.
I was the passenger when my inebriated buddy drove thru 25' of wooden fence in his 71, took the cops on a high speed chase in my 70 thru San Leandro and Oakland. I shook them, however a year later in my 75 I got caught and did 20 days county. The 75 went to the pick a part graveyard. Oh well, I visited it and pissed on the drivers seat and broke the windshield hoping I would feel better-
I didnt-loosing an Oldsmobile SUCKS-if only it was a FORD!!!!
Well those days are behind me now. I just drove 4 states to buy a 1973 Delta 88 convertible. Like Nick Nolte said "Im a ragtop man"
Its been sitting for about 10 years. First I douched the interior, its red and faded but will due for now, the top is shot. The body is straight and all the chrome is intact. I wire brushed all the electrical leads. The locking pin in the steering colum was froze so I had to disassemble the whole thing and repaired.
1 Freeze plug needs replacing, Im upgrading the point dis with HEI, new plugs wires ect, Its been raining all day other wise I would have some photos and I would be wrenching instead of stoking keys.
I look forward to all the Oldsmobile knowledge I can share and receive thru this forum.
Photos up this evening-
