New from St. Louis 1967 Delmont 88

Hey everybody. My names Shane. Live in St. Louis, wife, 2 kids, musician, skateboarder, car enthusiast. Just picked up a 1967 Delmont 88. Have been on the hunt for a 2 door hardtop BOP for a few years now, and fell *** backwards into this one.

Bought it from the original owner, 29k miles, 425 Super Rocket, th400, ps, pb, ac. Original window sticker, sale write up, everything. No rust, no dents, interior is red but the sun has gotten the best of it over the years. Plans are to keep it on the road and fix it as it goes.

Im glad to be here and expect stupid questions from me!

The only picture I have on me from my phone. Sorry for the quality:

Very nice car. I've got a '67 Delta 88, which is pretty much the same thing. 29,000 miles is very cool. The car is practically brand new.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I ended up snapping a few pictures over the weekend after lowering the car a bit. New wheels and tires should be on tomorrw, of course more pics to follow after that!

Here's as of Sunday afternoon:

Looks good! Just don't go too much "bling" with the wheels! . It actually doesn't look that bad as it is!

Dont worry Erik, im not for big bling at all. Truth be told, theres a lot of people who wont probably like my direction with the car, but I am building it to honor an era of automotive customizing I feel is overlooked, which is mid 60s to early 70s cruisers and lowriders. That era was of course ridden with drag cars, fast builds, etc. But myself being an artist, Ive always had great interest in the passion thats put into early paint techniques, lace, metalflake, striping, etc.

Enough rant, haha, the wheels that are coming are:

Those will look nice! What size are you going with? Any plans for the brakes, or leaving the drums?

14x7 reverse offset discs are part of the winter plans after I enjoy driving her for a few more months. Ive never had power brakes with drums. Its a bit hairy when you forget you dont have to slam on them. Drum pull has gotten the best of me a few times now haha

If anyone cares to follow, I've started a thread in the big olds section documenting the cars progress.
