Newbie from Sweden
Hello!
I'm a new member of classicolds, live in Sweden, (excuse my sometimes incorrect english!) I own a '69 442 convertible with a 4 speed, unfortunately not the 400, but a '72 w30 455.
I bought this car for the first time in the early 90s, The previous owner had the car torn apart. i got a frame, a body and about 32 banana boxes with parts, I rebuilt the complete chassis including the 455 that got .030 overbore. The body was 99% rust free, the only part that was replaced was the drivers side front floorpan, which i cut out from a friends salvaged '68 le mans. Long story short, my second son was born in '98, the time and money was needed to other things than a car. The only things remaining was the paintjob and some assembly. I never had the opportunity to drive it. From that moment i almost felt sick everytime i heard a v8 or saw a musclecar, so i tried to keep away from the hobby for as long time as possible. For about a month ago, it wasn't possible any longer, i called the guy i sold it to, and he could consider selling it back to me. I will try to post some pictures of the car, but its winter in Sweden, so i guess that would be sometime in the spring. The car was assembled in Linden, NJ,(E in vin) came to Sweden in 1975, and i've got complete cover of the swedish owners, and have spoke to several of them.
It seems hard to find a site to decode the cowl tag, I mean, there are several sites that tells how to decode, but not what the codes mean. My time build code says 101 instead of 10A, i guess that means 1st week of oct '68. Does anyone know why i can't enter www.69olds.com?

Welcome to this site and congratulations on getting back your car! You'll find lots of help here. I say without question that this is the friendliest car sites of all that I am a participant. Pictures are always great. If you can get a picture of your cowl tag I'm sure you will be a full readout here of what everything means. The book I use for cowl tags is titled "442 By The Numbers", published by Supercars Unlimited. Take a look at their website catalog (www.supercarsunlimited.com). With regards to www.69olds.com, I heard through the grapevine that it no longer exists. Don't take my word for it, though - let others chime in to verify or deny. Great to have another '69 4-4-2 convertible aboard!

Ok, thanks everybody for the warm welcome greetings i've got. I have posted a scanned picture of my car with some info, you can find it in albums "swedish 442", As i am not very good at computers, the picture came 90 degrees wrong and the quality sucks, but thats my pride on that picture. Just wait until the snow melts!
