awsome. A 442 convertible with 70k original miles? I am green with envy!

is it a project car or all done up?

The original owner got the car when his father bought him the car during his last year in college and he was married in the car. He had to sell the car because he is in the hospital and not doing very well.

She is what I would call a really clean driver quality car. Had a "cosmetic" restoration over the last couple of years (new pant, seat covers, carpet and top). Under the hood she is totally stock and original, as is the tranns and rear. She has an aftermarket radio with speakers installed in the kick panels.

I also payed WELL under market for the car.

This is my first Olds but I have been playing with classics for years and have always wanted a 442.

Huge thanks to everyone on the forum for all the great info i found here when I was doing my search for the car. Also thanks to everyone for the words of encouragement above.

pictures to follow

My wife Aniko, Mitty and I took the the 442 for a drive up the coast a little to get a little open road, empty curvy roads and a tank of non-ethanol high-test today.

Me and Mitty - before I hear it: i keep his toenails well clipped, and I wouldn't let him do it in a show car.... but he LOVES the convertible!

I'm not a fan of the W-30 badges (gonna get rid of them when i can fill the holes), glad she still has the right stripe though.

The bumpers look good in the pics and from 10 feet but need re-chromed eventually,

the bumpers are not rusty or pitted but definitely not shinny.

The top is near perfect but she does need a new boot.

The engine, trans and rear end have never been out of the car, cruse control (right wheel well) isn't working but it looks like its missing a vacuum line.

A/C blows cold P/S P/B

Seat covers are new, dash is near perfect. The sticks under the dash are hand-controls (lost the use of my legs several years ago)

The aftermarket radio works fine and the dash wasn't cut to install it - the speakers in the kick panels are unfortunate but the gauges are well done and work. QUESTION: am i supposed to have four different woods??

Not that crazy about the wheel - might have to find a Rallye wheel. Was a Tic-toc-tach offered in "71??? Milage is real!

First big project is a W25 hood and ram-air.

Aniko and Mitty
