I joined to see your projects and accomplishments and share mine.
I am just ending (not finishing) a complete restoration on my first car, my 1974 442
Some specs.-
Mondello small block with steel crank,windage tray,stud girdles,forged pistons,Engle cam,Edelbrock heads warmed over by Mondello,Harland Sharp rockers, port matched Edelbrock Performer intake, Holley 750.
Pypes 2.5 exhaust with x pipe
TCI turbo 400
Moser 9 inch with 3.89 gears with TRU TRAC posi
Willwood disc's in back, SSB calipers in front
QA1 coil overs in front
Classic auto air
Rick's stainless fuel tank
Finally Fast fuel Injection on the way

Dude....mondello is no joke, u got some serious coin into that drivetrain!!! Looks good, but what is this "ending, not finishing" talk. U've come so far and I'm sure u have alot of time and pride into that car. What's up with that?? I wanted to get the whole pulley system, alternator bracket, and power steering system they have, but found better things to do with $2,000. I love mondello's dedication to olds, they know what's up.

FIRST 442... It's my distinct pleasure to be the second person to welcome you to the Classic Oldsmobile Discussion Forum.
Your engine and vehicle look awesome. We love pictures here... so keep posting them and keep us updated with your build. Your ride looks awesome! Please give us the history of your vehicle and how you came to own it and what changes you have made or are planning to make!
Just one word of caution for you... I really don't think that your engine will fit under your hood after you finish working on it. You just might want to sell it to me for scrap. Don't be disappointed hearing this news. You will feel better in the long run if you just put a stock engine back in your engine bay.

No project is ever finished in my book.
I bought this car from the original owner in 1981 at the age of 17.
I drove it to high school and a few years after then stored it.
Then started the restoration 5years ago.

nice.....my 65 was given to me by my grandfather when i turned 14. i started ripping it apart the first day i got it. all my friends and family saw all the pieces everywhere and things i was doing to the car, and everyone said the car would never run again. now i have the last laugh when i'm turning heads on every road i drive on and chirping gears coming around the corner:-) i agree that a car like ours is never done, there is always something to be done, or you want to do. i think the way you worded your first post made me think you were giving up on finishing it. if you don't mind me aksing, what did the engine run you from Mondello?? i have considered having them build me one in the future....but i have never inquired about what it would cost. my motor is numbers matching, which is the only reason i have stuck with it thus far. but i would love to have a 455 under the hood:-)
