70 442 convert, 56 88 hardtop
I just wanted to introduce myself and the two Olds I have. The 56 is pretty much done, new red/white paint, 500hp 455 with Turbo 400, narrowed 9 inch, 56000 original miles. This is a great car and fun to drive. The 70 has an interesting history which goes like this. In 2006 my son-in-law was cleaning out a rental for his landlord and when he finished with the house he started on the carport and garage. When he was done with that he chopped the blackberries out from the front of an old shed behind the garage. When he opened the doors there sat this 70 442 convertible, with 1978 plates. The landlord said it was not his must have belonged to the lady he bought the house from. We contacted the owner who now lived in another state! She said the car belonged to her husband. He had the car painted and it was awaiting a new top. He suddenly died so she brought the car home and put in the shed in 1978. We reached an agreement and I bought the car 4 years ago! The car is absolutely straight, matching numbers, 98000 miles. The upholstery was good but you can put your finger through it anywhere now. I am starting a frame off which I hope to finish by this time next year. I will post some pics soon of both cars.

Right across the valley, now what's the odds of that Dave! When its convenient for you I'd enjoy seeing your cars. If your needing parts for the 1970 I may be able to help. Once again, welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy being part of the Oldsmobile community as much as I do! John

442 colors
The exterior was the dark green and the interior was black with a black top. At least I think the top was black, it was gone when I got the car. I am trying to figure how to repaint and upholster. I really want either red with white upholstery and top or black with the white. Like to put the oai hood on with white stripes. Just thinking at this time.

You wouldn't have any pictures of it in the shed you found it in,or just removed, would you? I have a collection of cars in barns,or just afterf, before they are cleaned up.Nice find,I like to hear when folks find good stuff still stashed away! ---bil
