Somewhat new....
Been hangin' out here for a few weeks and never introduced myself.
My first Olds was my '53 that I bought from a friend after I talked him into buying it. It had 70,000 original miles and one repaint, the same color. I did find that it had three layers of seat covers over the original material which was in great shape except for dry rot. Had the car 18 years and never finished it. Got more aggravated looking at it unfinished and decided to sell it. Sold on the internet in about 2 weeks to a fella that actually retired from the Linden, NJ plant it was assembled at (by coincidence). The car has been completely redone and is in Florida now.
Then I bought an '01 Aurora V8 new. I loved the car but the wife drove it and refused to let me have it. So, I bought a Final 500 with 4,000 miles from a guy's family - he had passed away. Great car, great price. Like many others, my work situation changed and I decided to sell the 500 in about a year and a half's time. The car never saw rain when I had it and I only added 4m miles in that time.
We still have the '01. I drive it now that I bought the wife a new Audi A5 (she still misses the Aurora). I'm snooping around for a '73 - '77 Cutlass for an everyday driver when the Aurora goes. No more new stuff for me. I spend too much money on other toys like dirt bikes and quads for the family. For those who have not tried it, you should - best stress reliever and family builder that ever existed!
The '53 and 2 Auroras can be seen in the Aurora section - I posted pictures of them there but I'm sure all or most of you have seen them by now.
