1] Select the forum you want to post in and click "New Thread"[upper left]

2] Yes, You may jump into any thread but we try for each thread to remain on the topic [if there is one] [see Good morning thred]

3] Post the cowl tag numbers and the vin code and we can help ya out.

As a mod I can't speak to who's getting lucky.

So what does this stuff mean
ST72 = 1972 model year
3 = Oldsmobile division
42 = Cutlass Supreme
67 = convertible
LAN = Lansing, MI assembly plant
246537 BDY = sequential Fisher Body assembly number (not related to the VIN)

?9D = Should be 09D, which would be the fourth week of Sept, 1971. See note below - I don't think it's Sept 1972 but there are some questions.
A51 = Bucket seats

3 = Oldsmobile division
J = Cutlass Supreme
67 = convertible
K = 350 4bbl single exhaust, 180 HP net
2 = 1972 model year
M = Lansing, MI assembly plant
120020 = sequential build number

557752-3B = 1977-1980 350 block - this is not the original motor

Note that this early build date is very unusual given the very high Fisher Body number. It's possible that due to the funny things that happened in the 1972 model year (the new 1973 body style was supposed to come out in 1972, but a strike forced a late decision to delay and press the 1971 models into service as 1972s), this may actually be a late 1971 model year Fisher Body that got pressed into service as a 1972 car. Thoughts, Kurt? I don't think the 1972 models were actually built as late as Sept 1972 (though that would be consistent with the high Fisher body number). Does anyone have any info on the 1972 production duration?

Top right HIT "Quick Links " and then "Subscribed threads. "

Yes, I see the pic but on my screen it.s Orange not Green.

[Which is good, I've grown wiery of looking at Sandy's Green car covered with Trophies]

Is somebody firing up a joint in one of those pics?

Poor old girl!! She is chebby orange! But that can be changed!! She'll be beautiful again one day. So why do I have 14 paint sticks at home in various colors of pinehurst green that can't be matched to my paint??? I'll be going elsewhere to get those little things fixed - I just think they didn't want to do it cause it wasn't worth their time. Creeps!!

PS...i hope to get to chat with all of you when i search other forums based on questions i have put together after having had a chance to walk around and crawl under the car...

and pps XRACER70 is the birthday boy so make sure he is behaving!!! i have no objection taking the present back, i saved the for sale sign...LOL he watched me post this

Oldsmobiles makes great birthday gifts!

This year for my birthday, my wife gave me a "gift certificate" to buy a classic car. I just got myself a 71 Cutlass Supreme convertible.

I wonder how she is going to top that next year

Maybe shes the one trying to make things even!

She likes to travel, and we spent a lot of money travelling the last 3 years. Right now travelling is on hold, because we have a 8 week old son. So it was a good time to spend some money closer to home. Oh and she wants to have her 30th birthday party in Thailand!! That will even things out

Yes the car looked like this, the only thing I have done to it, is wash it and fill it with gas. Oh and enjoy it very much!

It sounds like everyone in your house is LUCKY...Congratulations and Good Luck!

My boyfriend, his 11 year old son and I are looking forward to working on "our project"...your son is going to be quite excited the closer he gets to driving age as you get more nervous...have fun everyday that passes as time flies by and a day easy to miss you don't make an effort to make it worth remembering!!!
