Wow! I'm not the only Delta guy!

Hey everyone! New to the forum, but I've owned a 1972 Delta 88 for a little over a year now. Nothing fancy, all original, matching numbers, 350, 3spd auto, just over 200k and still purrs like a kitten. I took her off the road a couple months ago because it needs some minor TLC and my attention (and $$) has been on other project cars (my fiance's 74 El Camino is a lot nicer than my Delta, so that's been the priority lately). I'm going to be getting it on the road as a with a 6.0 LS swap in the next 6 months. My ultimate goal with this vehicle is to use it as a daily driver and for family road trips across the country once per year. Good news is I have excellent access to wrecked GM pickups and there's a reliable muscle car shop that does turnkey swaps for 3k out the door.

Sorry to the purists who prefer original classics, but I want to use this car, not show it, and putting 25-35k miles a year on a 1972 drivetrain just isn't going to work, and the HP & MPG advantage of an LS swap is perfect for me. Besides, it's a base-model Delta that's flipped the ODO twice... I would have started with something different if I wanted to due a true restoration.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and share a pic of my ride.

I love life, I love love, and I love my Delta!

~ Ken

It made my day when Bruce Campbell told me it was a "...pretty sweet ride."
