Just got home from a 6 hour road trip to bring home a 62 Starfire Coupe! I found a rust free car that is complete right down to the glass washer fluid bottle. The car ran when parked in 1992. The previous owner had partially taken apart the exterior moldings and bumpers. He had started sanding the body in hopes of painting someday. well, that never happened and now I own the car. It has been stored inside since about 1989. Will try to post some pics when I have more time.

Welcome to Classic Olds, The Starfire is a great car. What colour are you going to paint it?

Thanks for all the replies and welcomes, I still haven't had time to post any pics yet. The car still has the original white paint on it, so I am going to paint it the same color. After going through all the parts that came with the car it looks like only thing missing is the passenger inside door handle, a door and trunk lock cylinder and the chrome "Oldsmobile" letters that go across the front of the hood. The interior panels are in decent shape, but the seat will need to be re-done. Headliner is shot. They are intact but torn and the foam is deteriorated. It will probably not see paint until next year about this time. Are dashpads still available for this car? Also, I was told that a lot of glass and trim parts are the same as the 62 Impala. Does anybody know if that is true? Thanks

There is a company called Just Dashes in Calif. that rebuilds dashpads . Never used them , so I can't comment on service .
I , myself , found a nice original pad on E-bay for my '63 . It was black but I dyed it maroon .

Yes , It's true . Most of the "greenhouse" parts of the body . The windows , rubber seals , and window trims are the same for all General Motors "B" body cars . These will include Impala , Grand Prix , Starfire , and Wildcat .
Chevy places are often cheaper for window / door seals than Olds specific places . And they are the same parts .
Also door handles , window cranks , ashtrays and some other small body parts are used across the line .
