68 olds 455 BB in an 85 chevy Monte carlo
Help!! I have an 85 Chevy Monte Carlo that I'm dropping my 68 olds 455 into. Of course I ran into mounting issues. What mounts exactly do I need to make this work? I've read that olds 307 engine and frame mounts will work. Is this true? If you know a solution plz help, and post links to the right parts if you have them or pm me if you have them for sale. Thanks

307 mounts, for the engine..
The 2004r that was most likely behind the 305 in the monte isn't going to like the power of that 455.
The th350/400 will need a different crossmember.
If you use the 2004r you'll need to get the tv cable brackets and set it correctly or the trans will be a goner sooner than normal.. and no the 305 ones will not work.
The 7.5" rear will break if you ever get the car to hook..
Good luck

The Monte is a Cutlass Supreme. Use the frame mounts from any 1977-1990 RWD B/C body or 1978-1988 A/G body with an Olds motor. Use Anchor P/N 2328 motor mounts. The frame mounts look like this. Note that they are RH/LH.
Also be aware that valve cover clearance to the HVAC box will be tight. Consider getting the Olds 307 valve covers, which are reshaped slightly and provide a little more clearance.
