New 442 owner
Hey everyone, I picked up my own 442 in July, just outside La Grange Oregon. My username is such because my Dad has his own 1967 442 convertible that he bought back around 1994-95. I found this 67 on 442.com and took the trailer down and picked it up. I own an auto repair shop so this winter we will be working on the mechanicals inside my shop/business in hopes to have it on the road some spring here in north Idaho.
It has less than 100k miles the Julian date on the front tires is from 1972. The fellow I bought it from had it painted in 1990 and never put it back together.
It is a very rust free car and was mostly complete but needs reassembly. I'll post some pictures shortly.
The car was done in base clear and never color sanded and buffed. I spent about 2 weeks blocking it down and buffing it out and the paint I thought to be somewhat poor came around nicely. I has suffered some chips and dings sitting in his garage for 27 years, but it will be a driver and is serviceable for now.
I'll be sharing my progress on here as time goes and asking all of you for advice.
