Can you tell me what all the numbers and letters mean?

940 - ZZ

OD8571993 (Maybe QD)

OW1831

T3 6

940 = Trim Code (black bucket seats)

ZZ = Peruvian Silver upper and lower body color

QD8571993 = Engine unit number. QD should be the paper sticker on the oil fill tube and 8571993 should be stamped on the oil fill tube. The "8" in the first position means 1968 model year and the rest is just a sequential build number

OW1831 = Trans unit number. OW is the trans tag code and 1831 is the unit number

Don't know about the rest.

I'm going to say that 05100 is the dealer code for the original selling dealer.

T3 = 3.91 Olds rear axle w/3.91s for cars w/ power disc brakes
6 = June build

05100 = accessory codes

0 = NO cruise control
5 = power steering & power disc brakes
1 = deluxe radio
0 = NO a/c or HD cooling
0 = NO power windows
