Just Bought a 69 350 rocket

I am new here. First older car i've bought and have been at it since october slowly getting things in working order.. original 46*** miles. new head gaskets, fuel lines, carburetor, brakes all around, fuel tank, fuel pump. Im onto the shocks now. The rear shocks to be exact. I have been able to get the lower bolt out but the upper two on both of the rears just spin. I can't see the top of the bolts i can only feel due to lack of space. I can't seem to get a wrench around them to be able to loosen them. Any suggestions? Am i going about this wrong?

Use small Vise-Grips. Clamp 'em good and tight, then break off the nuts.

If that fails, you can probably cut the heads off of the bolts with a whizzer.

Welcome to ClassicOlds.

Welcome to the site. I use a thin box or open end on top. As Eric stated, if all else fails just cut the nuts off.

Welcome and yes, these are nut-and-bolt connections and you need to fit an open end wrench onto the nut at the top. IF too rusted to come apart, then cut them off.

Thank you all. I actually had more luck with small vise grips! New rear shocks are on. Much Appreciation
