Newbie on deck

Hello All,

Starting a restoration on my 1955 88 deluxe. Having a few issues with wiring specifically reconnecting the heater blower. Any advise would be helpful.

My new baby.

Congrats on your putchase. The first thing I would recommend is to purchase and original factory shop manual. It will have a color coded wiring diagram. It will be the best money you can spend on this car since you will need it often. Do not buy a reproduction or CD copy since they will not have wiring diagrams in color. Here is one for $9.50 which is really a good price even with the $11.50 shipping.

Welcome. Cool car. I think 55 Oldsmobiles are the best looking 55 GM. Look forward to watching.

What all have you done so far? It could be as simple as a blown or missing fuse You will find the fuse box under the dash diver side and it is labeled. If the fuses are good try a piece of wire from the + side of the battery to the heater motor and check if it will run. After that dropdown to the vintage forum where most of the fifties guys hang for further ideas, we'll get you fixed up in no time....Lost in the fifties ...Tedd
