New member help rocket build

I have a oldsmobile 350 rocket gold engine came out of like a 75 olds tornado complete rebuilt bored .040 complete valve job new guides upgrades spings to match with new mild steet comp cam new timing chain I mean the works. My engine just isnt giving me the power I think it should have and i believe it has alot to do with my timing/tuning I wana know wat is the best way to find your best timing for you engine and i do have a distributor with the curve kit also any help provided is greatly need!

It's Toronado, and this can't be correct. The only engine available in the '75 Toronado was the 455. In fact, the Toronado never came with a 350 in any year.

Im not exactly sure wat it came out of im just goin on wat the guy said i got the engine from and im sure its around those years because when i bought the arp head bolts at first i had to the wrong ones "the smaller ones" and I was informed then that a i had a early 70's model motor

and also it was a front wheel drive engine also but thats really beside the point im look for tunning help

In fact, the Toronado never came with a 350 in any year
Starting in 1979 when they first downsized them, they came with a 350. Supermario, you need to i.d. your engine, look at the casting numbers on the shelf behind the water pump. There is a pad below the No.1 cylinder (front drivers side), post that here and it can i.d. the year.

Welcome to CO. If it came out of a Toronado, it is either a 79 or 80 engine. As far as your problem goes, can you give us more specifics on your fuel/ignition setup? Stock HEI setups are generally not geared for performance and if yours is stock, that would be one of the first places I would look to modify.

I have a 1406 edlebrock with performer rpm intake new distributor bottom with accel curve kitand high performance coil but I do have stock wires and alternator o and manual fuel pump wit glass filter

Update I moved my timing up to 22 initial now she's sucking gas but hauling a** lookin for that perfect combination
