new member, 50 rocket 88 coupe

new member, 50 rocket 88 coupe

I hope to get my new 50 olds on the trailer tomorrow, won't be able to do much at first as i am on vacation. I am excited about there car. will try to post pics later. I have a 66 c10 and a 66 SS Chevelle, have been in both forums for those cars and learned so much from the members . I know I will need lots of help and advice help on the olds . I am leaving tomorrow in my c10 from Florida to ft worth c10 nationals then on to California for extended vac.

Welcome. The 50 Olds coupe is one of my favorite Oldsmobiles from the 50's. We would love to see some pictures. Have a safe trip.

Looks like a really solid car. I believe that is actually a 2 door sedan instead of a coupe.

Back to the "coupe vs sedan" thing for a minute, most of us think that sedans have doors with pillars, but I believe that in the early 50's up until about '53, the word coupe was used to describe some models (two door) that we would now commonly refer to as sedans.

If Jaunty 75 is tuned in to this thread, he has a very good knowledge of the various nomenclature for that era. I defer to his expertise.

And to add to the confusion both cars are very early in production as they have the 49 split wind shield. later the same models had the more modern single glass as was common with the new era cars... Tedd
