New to Classic Olds

New to the forum. Just bought a "68" 442 Holiday Coupe and about
to start some restoration. I am impressed with the amount of info
and knowledge here. Great forum. I'm sure i will have questions
when i get started.

My new project

It is blue but may not be the right shade. It was
re-painted in "99"

Welcome to the site! I'm not sure what your car needs but it looks like you've got a solid car to build on.

Welcome to the group... Good looking 68 from the photo... What restoration does it actually require or are you just looking for your personal touches???

John, The interior is original but not in great shape so i'm going to re-do that.
There are a few electrical issues that need to be addressed, the car was re-painted
in 99 but not original color so i'm going back to original there. Car runs and drives good
as is so no issues there. I'm sure I will find other issues, The car is original other than
the paint. I am the 3rd owner.

Very nice ride. It does look very solid. Good luck with the car. There is a wealth of knowledge on this website and a more to be shared by the members who truly care about the Oldsmobile brand.

Looks great! Enjoy your 4-4-2 and be sure to ask questions on this site if you have any roadblocks or things that don't seem to add up right. Lots of expertise here and willingness to help!

Lovely '68, my favorite year. You've come to the right site.

I'm sure someone will eventually point out that the W36 side stripe is in the incorrect location (see rcorrigan5's avitar for the correct location), but you can fix that when you re-paint it.

Thanks

Thank you all for the welcome. It's exciting to know that this much information is available for
my project. Also good to know where the experts are. I'm sure I will have questions along the
way. Thanks again!

That's a sweet looking ride for sure. I'm not sure I would dive down the rabbit hole too far if you don't need to.
