Finally a proud Ninety-Eight owner.
Greetings and salutations. Joining this site in recognition of having acquired a 1980 Olds Ninety-Eight Regency sedan, after a long search for just the right one.
I'm fond of the 10th (?) generation Ninety-Eight, especially the 80-84 models have a particularly pleasing shape. When I saw one for sale with a factory Rocket 350, my eyes lit up at the thought of owning one that could run circles around the 307s. Or at least run up hills where the 5.0 would huff and puff.
She's got 86K miles, creamy off-white exterior, brown velour interior, tilt and telescope wheel, custom stereo with Sirius XM and a 12" subwoofer, air horns (not my idea), and the little external thermometer on the driver's mirror. Only thing it lacks that I'd really prefer it had was the optional complete gauge cluster.
Debating on a name for her. Narrowed it down to either Sara or Vanilla.

I had one in a 1990 Cadillac Brougham. I think it went 0-60 in 16 seconds when the electronic carb was feeling good, which it often wasn't.
