Bill take a pic of the fuel leak I am not understanding where it's leaking from. From my experience witch is limited to carbs. Float adjustment only helps bowl over flow from my understanding you might be leaking from the carb base witch could be a easy fix

I had a 2-Jet that leaked out the shafts when I was a kid.

Did it for a couple of years.

Rebuilt it once or twice, ended up swapping it for a QuadraJet, 'cause I thought it'd make the car go faster.

Never did figure out exactly why it did that, but I really didn't care much, either.

Looking back, there had to be a leak in the bottom of the float bowl, maybe a crack, maybe a porous spot, probably not a bad gasket.
It's worth taking it apart, plugging the jets, filling the float bowl, and seeing where the gas comes out.

Ok and will do may be a few days and how do I properly adjust a detent cable as far as hooking it to the carb etc cause I feel that's where I'm loosing a little bit of my power is the tranny not shifting at the proper intervals cause ik I didn't adjust it right

The detent cable does not affect upshifts it only controls downshifts. The ahift points are controlled by the modulator (to some extent) right rear of the trans . New one is like 15 bucks for a red stripe its adjustable you can dial in the shift points. You can also change the wheights and springs in the governor . Ultimately a shift kit will change your shift points all together along with line pressure . The only external thing you can do the change the shift points is the modulator.

That's what I thought but I still wasn't sure.....ok on that note why aren't my shifts consistent then could it be in the modulator cause the trans has been rebuilt with shift kit installed.

I mean it isn't that the shifts are bad and hard they just don't always occur consistently if that makes any sense

if it does not shift from 1 to 2 until 30 then it could be one of two things. #1 you have a 2.56 or some 2 series gear where it takes some time for it to shift but if its reving up at 30 and not shifting then its (#2) the modulator . Do you have the vacuum line hooked up from the modulator to the intake ?

Yea its to the intake and apparently haven't gotten to check this but I have 3.73 or something like that gears which I think is the case by the way it will throw you in your seat cause really I don't have but stock torque numbers and I don't think those would be enough to throw you and spin tires but then again I'm learning so I may be wrong
