Nice work on the seat. I am in the process of doing the same. Did you use a molded foam for the padding or just cut slab foam?

I got myself a piece of 1 1/2 X 24 X 60 inch foam (cut slab) and cotton quilting matting, and all the burlap I needed from joanns fabric. original hog rings (upholstery clamps) from legendary interiors there prices for these are the best when it come to the original appearance rings.

here are a few pics of my bucks as I did the same to them as the back seat, I installed new cushions from American cushions I got from legendary interiors. sorry for the first four pics. they are blurry the last one I took with my new phone it is much better. this why I waited to post any pics. as I was doing any of my car, but now that I have a good ph. to take pics. I will try to post more often.

Wiper motors are a pain. I took mine apart but I think i am going to send it off and let the pros finish it.

eric I have another one that I did. I have a parts car and what I did was to take both of them apart to redo them and I kept the best one of my car but the other one is just about as good. I did it to resell it but I will wait until my car is completed to get rid of any of my extra parts.

it took me several tries but I finally got to match the steering column paint to match, had to replace the turn signal cancel cam.

On mine, I decided not to paint the parts you painted gold since it looked good aside from some key "swing" scuffs that I mostly waxed out, and I didn't want to lose that weird finish my tube had - it is kind of like the metal wasn't very well sanded at the factory, and you can kind of see the scratches through the paint. My Rallye 350 I had years ago had the same thing.

yes joe as u can seen in the first pic the paint was missing at the key cyl. area and it had a few scratches. I think I will paint the tube a little farther down as they did paint the column as an assembly, there is a page in the assemble manual that shows the paint cover (overspray) onto the lower tube. p. s. thanks for the column tag ray

pulled my frame off the body yesterday. installed it on my rotisserie and spent about 6 hours straighten the lower side frame rails. this was quite a job trying to get the rails back to being straight and having the oval contour they have. had to use many different pry bars, hammers, iron stock just to try to figure out how to go about getting them back to there original shape. this car must have been jacked up a few time by the side rails and it also had a long scrap at the r r rail. hope the blast it as soon as the weather permits. had to fill in two areas were someone used a cutting torch to cut holes in the spring cross member to support the exhaust system

Did you mix the column paint yourself or is it available in a premixed spray can?

rick I ended up getting the paint at the local ppg store I brought them the column shift bowl to match but it took them all of a week to finally match it. they did put it in a rattle can for me. this paint was different from the other paint on the dash. the column units must have been assembled and painted at a different vender because of the color differents.

joe some of the pics that I have been posting are things that I have done several months back that mite explain why it seem like I am going fast at time. like my rims I redid these about 2 months ago. and my column I did about a year ago. there was 2 years on the 18 of dec. that I got the car home.

posted my seat belts many months back but decided to post them on my thread for those that would like to see the results. made my tags myself on the paint brush computer program, got the seat belt webbing from seatbelts plus (3 Webb. style). and used my wife's sewing machine ( with permission of course) to replace the webbing and sew on the tags

I was just thinking about that thread the other day. I had gotten my seat belts out and started cleaning them up this past Tuesday.

Will do. I think I will have to change the buckle on two of them. Before I started cleaning them they were hard as a rock. I didn't think cleaning them was going to loosen them up but the first soaking got them loosened right up. My wife is going to work on them today some.

eric u know u can remove the buckle heads without un-sewing the ends

work on my rotisserie this morning and part of the afternoon. installed a 3rd wheel that I can raise and lower as to move it around when needed and then lower it as so it stays in place when working on the car.
after finishing with the rotisserie I started to repair the right front body bushing rest area on the frame. found myself a large washer that was the perfect diameter for the repair, and cut the I. D. to the correct diameter. at lest 1/3 of the area to be repaired still had a good I. D. that I could line up the washer with then indexed the position of the washer to the frame and then scribed the outside diameter of the washer. the hardest part was to cut out the bad section on the frame to fit the O. D. washer but got it done with my die grinder bit and a cut off wheel. lucky me my neighbor is a certified welder and will weld things up for me tomorrow, I could weld them but there is a spot on my frame that is cracked and I would like to have it welded by a professional to do the repairs

Ingenious repair on the mount hole! Where is that crack located?

joe here Is a better descriptive pic of were the crack is located, it runs from the frame opening for the right front spring across the bottom and up the weld where front main cross member main frame rail meet and then branches off towards the back of the rail about 2"

Great looking repair the welds will be stronger than the original metal.

Wonder why it would crack right there though probably too much torque

Looks good. I have been working on my intermediate shaft and can't figure out the color I want. I had it gloss black and then decided to repaint it cast iron color and now I don't like that at all. I seen restored cars that were black and a cast iron color and even phosphate color. Is black correct? I had no paint on mine and none of my parts cars have paint left on them. I think I am going back to gloss black?

started cleaning out the trunk wells and cutting out rust located in the corner of the right rear lower fender. removed the trunk well plugs and cleaned them up to reuse them. I plane on blasting and painting them back the original color. the color is the same as some of the fuel line spring clips, that olive are army green, and I will have to look for some red rubber material to make new seals. the first pic. of the plugs are darker because they are wet
ILT replacements are no were close the originals ones, they look like a generic plastic push plug.
any one have any ideas were I can get a thin red rubber material please let me know.

I got the inline tube ones just to get the rubber gaskets out of them. I have not installed the plugs yet but i think the gaskets will work. They look to be the same color. I was looking for my originals the other day and I am missing one of them. I think it fell out of the box when our basement flooded. I hope one of my parts cars has one.
