Thanks Joe & Kevin for the compliments, I looked at wheels for months, and Jason Rushforth had the idea to powdercoat the centers. They remind me of SS1's which the car was born with..
Now even with high Texas temps I need to install the rear Ride Tech parts...grrr

Lance:
I'm finally catching up on my CO subscriptions. Those wheels look great on your car and I love the stance. Are you having any issues with tires rubbing in the front? What size are your tires? What is your offset/backspacing? Details man, we need details - LOL. Seriously, your car is an inspiration to me as I've got a ways to go on my project.

Hey! This really looks great and I'm doing something similiar with a 2in spindle drop and and same amount with springs in that back. Have you had any clearance issues with your...

'295/45/18 rear, and 255/45/18 front, I specced 5.5 BS on the rear, and either 5.25 or 5.5 on the fronts.' ?

Thanks!

Love the stance of your car and am doing something very similar with wheel and tire size. I am having a hell of a time finding tires that size. How do you like the Nittos? Are they drag radials? Did you find any others you were looking at?

Thanks!

I have the Nitto's; 295/45/18 rear, and 255/45/18 front, I specced 5.5 BS on the rear, and either 5.25 or 5.5 on the fronts.

285R18 rear & 245RR18 front

dads72:
I'm running a 285-40R18 on a 9" rim in the rear and a 245-45R18 on an 8" rim in the front. I have no fitment issues with the 285 in the back, but the 245 may rub the front fenders when turning. I don't have my car on the street yet so I can't confirm this size for the fronts.

I just returned from Power Tour, 3500 miles, other than replacing the Pro6Ten compressor in Dallas, and a brake rotor (thanks gearhead) we had 0 issues.
I have no rubbing on the front, and that's with 2" drop spindles...I wouldn't go larger than 295's in the rear unless the fender lips are rolled a lot. Next project is Ride Tech coil overs on the rear...MSD Atomic EFI, and Baer Brakes all around and cruise control..

My rears are not drag radials, purchased from Discount Tire. The other tire I looked at was Continetal..

Nice! I dream of Power Tour one day...lol.
I hear the MSD Atomic is very easy to setup. I'm sure you'll further enjoy your ride with the new improvements.

Dang, we caught the tail end of power tour (rode in friend's '72 Monte pro-touring car), missed seeing yours. It was hot, so we weren't real motivated to do a ton of walking.

Was good seeing you. Car Looked incredible. Glad I was at the right place at the right time. We looked like I was going to have to tow mine home from Wichita KS when a carrier bearing came apart but with a lot of effort figured out a solution and finished the long hall.

If you ever find yourself needing a 66 Chrysler Imperial carrier bearing there is one from a mid 60's Buick / Cadillac that can be made to work LOL

A way overdue update, the car hasn’t moved since we got back from the 2016 Power Tour.
The work to get ready for the ‘18 PT....
Dewitt aluminum radiator with dual Spal fans (black finish), stock fan shroud, and custom fan relay enclosure.
A/C repair to fix freezing up.
Replace stud on rear axle.
Install newly restored windshield wiper motor.
Finally install Ride Tech rear coil overs.
Wash & Wax

Lance,
Just read your thread. Your car looks amazing! How did you like the way the s670 box and ps mod turn out? Improved road feel? I have a quick ratio on my car but it’s pretty numb.

Thanks, the s670 box was hands down the best handling mod I’ve done, very much improved road feel, the Olds box, even rebuilt can’t come close to the s670. Now I’m assuming someone is still supplying the box as Lee Mfg. closed awhile back.

Lance, I know I sound like a broken record in terms of saying the 64 will be finished for the PT, and again will not make this year once again. However, I do believe the car should be in the street with an unfinished interior in about 60 days. I did not know Lee shut down, remember I installed on of his boxes on the 64. Car has a time slot at Jack Laswell's beginning Wednesday, he's going to check my handy work, charge the A/C system, check the pressure on the 2004-R he built for me etc. As so as I get the car back I will update in major projects.

He sold the company and from what I understand they retained some of his employees. You can find the website is updated and has more of a modern feel now. I think Tom Lee is still a consultant.

Thought I would update, after the 2616 mile Power Tour...
The Dewitt radiator with Spal fans worked well, never saw over 200*, 1st fan comes on at 185*, 2nd at 195*, also added an override switch, so one fan can be operated manually, I really wanted to keep the stock radiator and fan, but, this setup never really got hot during low idle with the a/c on, unlike my stock setup. I was able to install my original shroud, so the fans aren’t visible, bonus! Oh, I put the fan and headlight relays in a box mounted underneath the rt fender on the fenderwell.
Still haven’t installed the rear Ridetech coilovers, my 3” rear pipes will need modifications to clear, this is next
Ive decided to use the Holley Sniper EFI setup, but haven’t decided on a tank yet, Rick’s Tanks is nice, but Aeromotive now has Retro tanks, and the Cutlass part will be available soon, so another option.
More to follow later...

It’s been awhile, but I’m geared up to install a Holley Sniper, and a Rick’s tank. I still need to install the rear coilovers..
I built some crib blocks, nice to have the car higher for interior and underneath tasks.

About Rick’s Tanks...they discontinued the Restomod tank, so I installed the Holley restomod pump in my tank, 255lph so it should work.

Today, my son & I mock-up’ed the Q-jet version of the Holley Sniper, this thing practically installs enough, I used the front fuel inlet, and the throttle bracket fits with a little tweaking. Now, it’s wiring time, pretty straight forward.

Looks good so far Lance. On my 64 if I ever get to upgrading to EFI. I would use the Holley Resto-mod pump too. Especially on a narrower frame early A-body the tank choices are probably few, however a 64-65 tank would probably work.

did you ever install the rear coilovers? Did they interfere with the tailpipes?

Yes the tailpipes interfered with the Ridetech coil overs, since the pipes were welded on, I cut them off…I have a pair of TA tailpipes in stock for when I have the exhaust installed.
And yes, I’m still at it, I hope to the car on the street in August,

Wow, a year and a lot has happened,
I’ve sent the Quadrajet Sniper back to Holley(2nd time)for warranty work, it should be back next week, I’m hoping my EFI will work good, I had a top notch tuner do 2 sessions, and the car ran very well, and then the handheld quit talking to the Sniper, so, I hope Holley fixed it.
I decided to refurb my AC, I’ll update with pics of the Oldairparts evaporator and POA kit, the condenser is on backorder…
The rear Ridetech coilovers ride nice, but the front needs a 900# rate spring to raise the front an inch, and a weaker spring for the rear, the springs are backordered till Sept (made in USA).
Also, I’m ordering repro fenderwells from OPGI, hope I like them, nice originals are tough to find.

Finally got my ride height adjusted, now using 900# front, and 175# rear, this is with Ridetech coil overs. The body is 1/2” lower than PIM 442 specs. Now onto having the tailpipes fabricated, had to remove the pipes to clear the coil overs.
More to follow

I’m running Nitto G2’s, 255/45/18 & 295/45/18, I’ve had these tires since 2014, so time to buy another set, 10yrs is too long!
The Holley Q-J Sniper is operating very well, however, it’s been back to Holley 3 times for repairs…..these things aren’t plug n play, a pro tuner is worth the bucks, but I love the quick starts and drivability is a huge plus.
Still haven’t charged the AC, I’m planning on using Red Tek refrigerant, I’ll report back..
Two products I returned:
OPGI fenderwells and fenderwell seals-no bueno on both.
