Original Body Shop Ticket Located
So..
I've been restoring my White 1962-88 for the last few years (with lots of help from a close friend). After gutting the interior we found an original body shop ticket under the carpet. This was some sort of data check list (for body welding) and was printed on thick paper. The Oldsmobile line employee folded the card in half (twice), placed it on the passenger rear floor pan, then red-led primed right over it. The odd part is how well it stood up very well over 50 years.
I have attached two pics... At the top is listed the body style number, and the body number (which matches with the trim tag). After finding mine, we went right out side to the 1962 Starfire, but it was not there. Both cars were built in the California plant a two months apart, but only my 88 had the documentation. All the restoration pics are in my photo album under my profile.
Anyone ever seen a body shop ticket before??
Paul.

Nice find ! A body broadcast sheet is the most common "paper" found. Finding any assembly line paper is rare in these years as it was supposed to be removed from these cars on the assembly line. This came from several former assembly line workers that I have read about being interviewed.
